Air springs can be used in paper mills to provide different functions in different parts of the papermaking process

1.- The air spring is used as an edge control system for aligning the bandage carrying the paper.

2.- Tighten the roll of the execution paper.

3.- Used as a press to extract moisture from the paper by means of rollers located in the machine.

For example, in aligning bandages carrying paper, if the paper machine control system recognizes that there is a misalignment, the air bellows acts as an actuator to tighten or compress depending on the bandage position.

Also, rubber cylinders are placed in the middle/end of the papermaking process most of the time. The purpose of this application consists in extracting all moisture (water/fluid) containing pulp in order to convert it into solid paper.

The air spring can also press the rollers located in the product line. In this way, the pulp is extracted and the pulp becomes firmer and more uniform.

Finally, the air spring also produces a constant pressure to tighten the web of the liquid-carrying web. In this way, the pulp is not wasted and follows the path correctly, avoiding misalignment.
