Sponge titanium is the raw material for titanium processing materials. Generally light gray particles, clean surface, no visible inclusions, but also defective titanium sponge blocks, such as burnt titanium sponge blocks, oxidized sponge titanium blocks with obvious dark yellow and bright yellow, with Oxidized and nitrogen-rich titanium sponge blocks with dark yellow and bright yellow traces, titanium sponge blocks with obvious chloride residues, titanium sponge blocks with residues, etc.

The production of cotton titanium is the basic link of the titanium industry. It is the raw material for titanium materials, titanium powder and other titanium components. Turn the ilmenite into titanium tetrachloride, put it in a sealed stainless steel tank, and fill it with argon to make them react with metallic magnesium to obtain "sponge titanium".

This porous "sponge titanium" cannot be used directly, and it must be melted into a liquid in an electric furnace before it can be cast into a titanium ingot.
