Wood carbonization is the process of heating wood at temperatures ranging from 160 to 230 ℃ (commonly 180 to 212 ℃) to improve its quality, reduce its moisture absorption and water absorption, enhance its dimensional stability, biological corrosion resistance, and climate resistance, resulting in a high-performance, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly wood product.

Characteristic

(1) Environmental protection and safety Wood carbonization heat treatment is a pure physical technology without the addition of chemical agents, and carbonized wood is an environmentally friendly material. In addition, carbonization treatment can improve and enhance the quality of fast-growing artificial forest wood, and can replace some natural forest wood. (2) Enhanced moisture resistance After carbonization treatment of wood, the highly hygroscopic hemicellulose degrades, resulting in a decrease in the moisture absorption and water absorption of the wood. Under the same air conditions, the moisture content of carbonized wood is much lower than that of conventional wood: during the rainy season in the south, the moisture content of carbonized wood used indoors is 7-8% lower, and in the north, it is 3-5% lower.
